    Artifacts while playing movies

It just started to happens, two days after it didn't, and I didn't remember installing any codec/program/or anything...

I play the same movie that looks good a week ago, and now it's full of little blocks, lines, and things like that, sometimes it overlays some images, or a huge block with bright colors appears. It's ugly, I tried re-installing all the codecs, reinstalling windows from zero (erasing windows and program files folders), is there anything else? can it be a hardware problem?

    Someone please help.

Open the video in Virtualdub and go to File Information. Post everything you see here.

make sure you have the necessary codec installed:

        divx 5.02

You could try updating your video card driver and DirectX. It's possible that your video card is overheating too.
