Warner Bros. to start German file-sharing service

Warner Bros. said on Monday it would soon begin selling movies and television shows in Germany, Austria and Switzerland using a peer-to-peer network, embracing the very technology that has rattled the entertainment industry.

Starting in March, the new service called In2Movies will allow paying consumers to download a limited selection of Warner Bros. films and TV programs, including "Batman Begins" and "The O.C.," from central servers and from other users who have the desired files.

Such networks, widely known as P2P, are blamed for rocking the music industry, as teenagers around the world easily swapped songs with each other using services like Napster and Kazaa. Credit and More Info: Yahoo News

Nice to see some corporations that can read the writting on the wall,
back several years ago when broadband was first starting to take off, a
technical conference pointed out that all this would happen, with or without
the entertainment industries cooperation.

this is wonderful news. i've been wanting to get old night court re-runs and they are by warner bros. maybe i can finally get them one day. i'd pay any price for those.

Is downloading TV shows off the Internet illegal too? If it is, then I got some real problems with the law

I mean, it's the same as TiVo'ing it and capturing to an AVI...

will these shows be in the d/l'd country's official language or will they all be in english ?

So what do you think the odds of them doing that here are? I don't think I would sign up unless the quality was there..including 5.1 audio...I gotta have that...but you are right TL...for NIght Court it would be worth it....
