why is it that although having the most reliable programs ever(recode2 and shrink) some of us(i'm one of those a------s)who continue to look and buy others,that, in some way or another,suck. (dvd2one.intervideo etc...). don't be like me people, stay with the best. shrink and recode2. once again i'm a A--hole.

Because not all of the alternatives "suck". For example, as you know:

1) Development of (freeware) DVD Shrink has been discontinued for some time now - and, as a consequence, by itself, cannot process "ARccOS"-protected DVDs. Nor does it have a built-in burning program

2) (Commercial) NERO Recode2, by itself, will not process protected DVDs

3) (Commercial) DVD95Copy CAN rip, process and burn "ARccOS" protected DVDs (as well as others, of course)

4) DVD2One is FAST

setarip thanks for the answer. but:

1) i don't mind the ARccoS protection, i use decrypter or dvd43free.
2) my problem is some of those so called " great programs" like dvd2one and intervideo copy 3. try them and you'll experience one problem or another. for example dvd2one undercompresses in full movie backup. intervideo goes to **** when main movie only backups. ok bro call me crazy but read this; shrink, recode2 and decrypte= great. the rest of then are shiiiiiiiitttttttt. and don't even get me start it on rebuilder, shiiiitttt also.
