Shrink stayed anonymous and I doubt that he would ever have
even considered losing that protection by clocking in at a company
in a country that adopted the DRM(or whatever) protection.
Kinda interesting how people from that neck of the woods stay out of
      this type of discussion.
I can just imagine a timrobbinsshawshankredep scenario.

        Hi Guys,

Regardless of who he works/ed for, the fact of the matter is that development of Shrink has ended. He said so himself. So until we hear anything to the contrary from the horses mouth, we should leave it as such. If you're looking for an "improvement" on Shrink, you can take a look at Recode. It's basically the same except for the interface, the fact that it doesn't remove protection, and is a bit faster. As far as I'm concerned, I don't have major problems with Shrink the way it is. Sure there were a few features that we asked for but were not given, but I think other programmers/users have come up with solutions to those issues. IMHO, it is along with Decrypter, among the best freeware ever created. The thing that got me hooked on this program and has lead to me spending countless hours on these forums was one simple fact. DVDShrink would NOT accept ANY donations from anybody. He could have, but he didn't. And THAT is what made it special to me. I liked the product, but I liked the philosophy even more.

Not to sound disloyal or unappreciative, I think Shrink's motives for not accepting donations were tied to certain legal issues with the product.
He developed a great product, had it beta tested, found a buyer.
All in all he's still one heck of a swell guy.
          And I enjoy still betatesting it(especially 3.2).

It's an easy and logical conclusion to come to, but rest assured this actually is not the case.

I didn't say there was a plan or intent, just a sequence of events.

I'm sorry - the man has a right to his privacy and there is no need for him or anyone else to "clear it".

I especially do not believe anyone should accuse people of lying - perhaps people, including myself, were misinformed or just speculating, but that's all.

I also think this speculation about dvdshrink is getting WAY out of hand so I'm closing this thread.

                      Regards
