I have a small workaround to burn perfect 16:9 DVDs using Ulead DVD Workshop. This trick works even with different software, but I have found DVDWS more easy.
The problem is not to change the IFO file using IfoEdit, but to change each i-frame record of the VIDEO_TS.VOB. Because pre-encoded videos are usually not re-encoded by DVD publishing software, the resulting VOBs are 16:9, only menus are obviously "brand new" and encoded in 4:3 mode. If the original images/videos used for the menus were in widescreen the only thing to change is the aspect ratio in every i-frame.
A simple hex editor can do the job but could modify some non i-frame value. VobEdit works fine, but each record must be modified one by one!
A good freeware should be nice
Any programmer's reading?
Cheers
