    strange problem

hi dudes i got a strange one and was wondering if anyone has any i deas.

    1.ripped film as normal
2.put into rempeg and encoded as usual
    3.remuxed with ifo
all seems normal but for some reason my dvds no longer play.i havent changed anything that i have done in the past but in my settop the disc just wont play, ripped loads in past and work ok but now nothing.alspo is taking about 8 hours longer to encode films.

any ideas?help would be greatly appreciated

"alspo is taking about 8 hours longer to encode films."

Sounds like your either your system is overheating or your mother board is dying...

cheers dude but i dont think thats the reason, neither of those would affect encoding

soory man i didnt mean to sound arrogant.all i meant was that surely that wouldnt effect whether or not the film would play would it?i just reripped one of my "unplayables" and reburnt it,it worked but the video sort of pulses.its all a bit weird really

I suggested those two possibilities based on first-hand experience.

(Perhaps the most basic premise users have a hard time accepting is that ANYTHING can affect ANYTHING with computer hardware/firmware/software...)

              Overheat.

Sounds like overheating could be the issue. I had this happen to me a few months ago. I switched out the heat sink, and all was good afterwards.
