    ReMpeg with WinXP!

ok this may be a very simple problem lol

Basically i have used ReMpeg (v2.51) with no problems for a quite a while now.

Since having XP though i cant seem to load a notepad file with the vobs into it.

    You do the normal :-

    cffl
    blah blah
    blah blah

and re-name the file to blah.cffl, but when you try to load it into ReMpeg it says cant open blah.cffl.txt

It seems that it still gives the notepad file a .txt file extension on the end and i cant seem to get rid of it.When you browse to the file it only has blah.cffl (with no.txt at the end), only loading it into ReMpeg shows it as blah.cffl.txt.

    Anyone had this problem?

    Thx In Advance

Set your desktop to "Show all extensions". Then delete the ".txt" from the filename...

whereabouts m8 exactly under folder options?

nearest thing i can find is via this path

control panel>folder options>view>"hide extensions for known file types"

and i have this option unticked.right clicking and re-naming the file doesn't work - it still shows a .txt extension when you click and look at it via properties

sorry if this is something simple but i'm obviously missing something

you could try using another text editor. I use a program called EditPlus.
