    DVD to DVD-R Copying

I want to copy my original DVDs to DVDr. At 45p per disk I would rather scratch the copies and save the original from getting damaged.

I have the necessary tools, is as simple as just copying everything from one to the other?

Nope. At the very least, you have to "rip" the original DVD (eliminate copy protection) before making a usable copy.

(If the original DVD is greater than 4.7 Gigs, you'll have to do a lot more work - stripping out alternative audiostreams, eliminating "special feature", modifying information [.IFO and .BUP] files, etc.)
