    DVD Copies and 5.1

    Hi,

Just about to start getting used to this backing up DVD stuff, but I was wondering, when you make an exact copy to copy of a dvd movie, entirely for backup purposes!, does it copy the dolby 5.1 audio with it too?
Probably a real stupid or/and simple question, but I can't help being stupid!

    Thanks,
    Lee

of course! The advantage of digital information is that you can copy it without loss of quality. dolby digital 5.1 is a compressed format and is located in *.vob file on dvd. vob (video objects) are files which store multiplexed video, audio, subpictures and some navigational information. so no loss of quality occurs.
