    9GB Disks

You can get double sided 9GB disks, they work OK and
    write fine in my Pioneer.

But, no you cant get single sided dual layer 9gb dics.

You could cleverly spli your film or put a PS2 back up on each side, but overall they are a waste of time (You can carefully Superglue 2 Single sided DVD-Rs together - Ive tried it , and it works, but glue them after the burn!! And make sure they fit perfectly!!)

Double sided? Remember the PAL version of Armageddon that you had to filp to watch the end of the film?

    2 disks glued

If you glue to disks, will that damage/stress the spindle on the dvd player? That would weigh twice as much as a standard disk.

lol gluing DVD-R, are you nut ?

After several use, am sure that the glue will damage either the DVD-R because of mechanical efforts or the DVD player

Dont try this at home kids

Im not suggesting anyone does it, but ive been doing it with CDR for ages and they seem fine, no damage to my DVD player.

Ive had good results, mainly with VCDs stuck back to back, with no disintegration of disks.

Ive done a few DVD-R over the past couple of months (Infinity Branded) and they still seem to be OK.

Of course just cos ive had good results doesnt mean u will.

Just giving My experience. It worked for me.

dunno what model pioneer you have but Will those double sided single layers work on an pioneer A04 model when it only conforms to 1.1 general standards, or will it possibly damage the drive? also does the A04 model have 2 pickup heads so you dont have to change the dvd sides? using firmware 1.40 dunno if that matters.
