DV to DVD

I read many posts and cannot find anyone mentioning the best settings to use for converting DV recordings to DVD. Can anyone tell me what the best (ultimate) settings are on TMPGenc PLus for converting *.avi files to *.mpg for DVD Authoring. Im interested in only PAL but maybe for other users NTSC settings would be nice too

Is there also any software that has those special transitions to smarten up the recordings. ie like FADE and SWIRL etc. I've used Pinnacle Studio 8, WinDVD Creator and others but when saving the files the software tends to degrade the quality of the recording

Use the PAL DVD (720x576) template...

Yo ! dude,

I have done this and it is very good quality. Now how about some advice on the best software for transitions so that the cut files are blended with some fancy swirling or fading etc.
