Experience with Ulead DVD MovieFactory 2 ?

HI to everyone

To author my DVB-TV-MPEG/PVA-files I looked for a easy to use and non expensive authoring tool and found Ulead MovieFactory 2 (German version: "FilmBrennerei"). But during processing I got some problems:

1. Some crashes by using a different menu.
2. At the last page of the programme (last step before converting the file/s) my DVD-drive SONY DRU 500A (+/-R/RW) is not found by the programme.
3. The converting process takes a long time even for a 720x576 MPEG-file.

I sent an E-mail to Ulead but there`s no response.

Meanwhile I tried the Demoversion of TMPGEnc DVD Author and it works perfect (easy to use and very fast).

Which experience did you made by using Ulead DVD-MovieFactory 2 ?

Technical Support by ULEAD

Today I had a phonecall with the technical support of ULEAD concerning my problems with DVD MovieFactory2.
They sent me an EXE-File for my DVD-burner.
I load this and now the program breaks each time during setup menu. Good support.

I've got me this prog for exactly the same task because it was recommended in some user forum for SAT-TV. Although it has numerous limitations most of the time it does what it is supposed to do without any problem. If the MPEG Files are DVD-compatible then no reencoding is neccessary (there is an option for "not reencode compatible stuff" in the video settings of the track). But I've noticed that the Clip should already cut to the right size; if you use the trim function for the start/endpoint then the message for "long time rendering" appears later - I usually cancel the output process when this happens.
