    Image quality problems

    Due to the good advice I've found here so far I am slowly advancing but I still need help.

    I use TMPGEnc 2.5 to convert dvix into a usable format in which is then processed by TMPGEnc DVD Author v.1.5.11.37 and burned with nero 6 dvd-video into a playable dvd for home use.

    The problem is for some reason of which I do not understand the colour on the dvd film seems to pulse between 2 shades of colour, ie: pink and normal viewing. Is this an encoding error..?

      No the original dvix encoded film was of execellent quallity and clarity with no varitations of colour, this only happened after going through the process to change to dvd

        What was the resolution of the original DivX-compressed .AVI?

            "AngelPotion"

            This notoriously problematic "hack-of-a-hack" codec (It's a modification of the DivX v.3.11 alpha codec) is probably the cause of your problem. You could try using a FOURCC changer, on a COPY of your original .AVI, to change the header information to that of the DivX v.3.11 alpha codec - and then process this NEW .AVI with TMPGEnc...

            Let us know of your success ;>}

              no matter what codec was used, UPSAMLING from avi format to dvd compliant format is no good advice!
