        ok....
        rip your dvd to hard disk (dvd decrypter or smartripper)

        load the movie or part you want to extract into dvd2avi

        choose the audiostream you want to rip (ac3)

        save it as project (*.d2v)

        DVD2avi now extracts the ac3 stream to your harddisk.

        load that audiosteam into Headac3 he and convert it to AC3 wav

        you can edit the wav stream with wave editors of your choice
        guess you are mor experienced in music audiomixing than I am.

            UHHHH
            I am now rereading this posts and noticed that you might have been talking of Splitting an AC3 6 channel stream into
            very single audio files --->
            that you get center , left , right, rearleft ,rearright and subwoofer
            as single audio files???

            you could use A Pack to perform this,
            maybe you find a single edition of this program but it is normally included in DVD STUDIO PRO

            as an alternative you might also try mAC3dec that will let you save
            the channels as seperated *.aiff files
