    Playback Problems

    Hi

I have a problem. Let me make it as short as possible.

System? PIII 866, 30 GIG HD,32 MB VC, 512 MB RAM. WIN 2000 professional

-Made a 5 min movie. Using a MiniDv JVC cam. Edited it in Adobe Premiere 6.5. Encoded it into a .MPG using the Adobe Encoder.

-Bought a Internal SONY DVD burner and made it an external using a case with a FIREWIRE adapter.

-Used Vegs DVD Architect and ULEAD DVD movie Factory to Author a test DVD. (Just wanted to see if it worked).

    - Only -R X1 is playable. I tested +r 4X and -R 4X discs only -R works.

    - IT PLAYED LIKE CRAP. I don't know how to describe it, the WHOLE DVD is Pixelated (menu and movies). It's choppy, pixelated, looks scrambled you can see the image and video but there are these scrambled blocks moving everywhere. On the menu screen they are there too but not moving, I guess becasue it's an image and not Video.

    - I thought it was the BURNER so I exchanged it for a Pioneer DVR-106D. (People were telling me that it's a dependable Burner)

    - BUT THE SAME CRAP HAPPENED AGAIN!!!!!!!!

I tried everything except making it internal. What did I try?

    -MAXELL DVD-R, PRINCO -R disc (11 coasters).
    -Set regions
    -Disabled Antivirus.
    -Uninstalled EZ CD Creator
-EXCHANGED a SONY DRIVE FOR A PIONEER!
    -DeFraGGED
-USED TMPGEnc to produce PROPER MPGs
-USED Adobe Premiere to PRODUCE MPGs
-Took the burner off the top of My computer case (thought the Vibrations might be causing the laser to screw up)
-Tested the DVD on 17 Stand Alones (All the same results)
-Was going to update Firm Ware but it's an external using Firewire, On the Pioneer Site they say that the FirmWare update is For IDE only.
-Installed all the MicroSoft SP 1,2,3,4 etc
-Used DVD Architect, ULEAD DVD Movie Factory to Author the DVD's. OH YA also tried to use Sonic's DVDiT! It's suppose to work great with Premiere.......BUT IT CAN'T SEE MY DVD BURNER!!!!!

Oh ya and it screws up on trying to WRITE to a CD-R as well.

    Can someone Fill me in?

With all of problems you have gone through, I feel terrible. I don't know how to help you.
Use Adobe is good, but if you try to capture movie files from your camcoder with Ulead VideoStudio, and create DVD with it, you may see the different. Capture with Ulead VideoStudio will give you the best quality of .avi or .mpeg. So try with this program and see what'll happen. Capture movies into .mpeg files will be better than .avi, because the files are small, easily to edit with any other program. Try it and let me know if there are differences.
Those who can, do. Those who wonder why, help.
Where can you find the best DVD backup software? Please click here

Try to view the end-product at each separate stage of encoding and see which is the software responsible for your woes.
