TPMGEnc DVD Author problem

I've been using the evaluation version of TMPGEnc Author quite succesfully so, I decided to purchase the license key.

Now that I've pasted in the key, I cannot get Author to access the DVD RAM drive.

I know that the drive works OK because I can view recorded material with WIN DVD and I can also load earlier transferred movie files from the PC into the Clip Editor

Author fires up OK and allows me to select the DVD_RTAV folder but then no clip appears in window 2/3 of the wizard. It's not even hanging or locked - just sits and does nothing. If I try to go to 3/3 I just get the warning that no clip has been selected.

Any clues on this one

I can only speculate that TMPGEnc DVD Author does not see any valid files in the folder that you're selecting...

The DVD_RTAV folder has the 3 files including VR_MOVIE.VRO which is 2,062,732 kb in size

Interesting development. During the transition from TMPGEnc Author (Evaluation) to the licensed version, I installed Roxio Easy CD Creator Version 6. I have now removed this from my PC and Author is working just fine again

Clearly there is some conflict with these 2 programs and I'm trying to find the workaround - if there is one

Well at that point I hadn't. I could not use TMPGEnc DVD Author and Easy CD & DVD Creator 6 on the same machine. But the answer is to disable the Drag-to-Disc function on Creator. This function, unfortunately, grabs exclusive use of the RAM Drive making it unavailable to some other programs.

Both progs working happily in harmony now
