    TmpgEnc

    Hi,
I have three mpeg2 (SVCD) files that I combined into one file using Easy Video Joiner 5.21. When I preview the resultant file using tmpgEnc, I can only play the first 1/3 of that file -which corresponds to "file 1" of the three source files I had before the join. However if i drag the preview slider pass the point where the video would normally drops out during play, I can see the rest of the movie and even play it.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Use TMPGEnc itself to join the 3 SVCDs:

    TMPGEnc>>File>>MPEGTools>>Merge&Cut

Unfortunately I no longer have the source files, only the one large file I made from them. Ultimately what I am trying to do is create a dvd compliant stream using the resultant file. However tmpgEnc only transforms the first 1/3, while Nero Vision Express 6, Sonic's My DVD, Arcsoft Showbiz and Ulead's MovieFactory 2 all hang trying to do the same thing. Surprisingly all the above programs except tmpgenc (and including windows media player) can play the file in its entirety w/o probs.

Next I am going to record the movie onto a S-VHS tape then export that into the computer. My programs might like that new video stream instead.

"Unfortunately I no longer have the source files, only the one large file I made from them."

Then first use TMPGEnc to split it into its original three components - and then join properly...
