DVD to DVD-R

I don't know if other people are having trouble doing this or not, but I've been trying for awhile now. I have used SmartRipper to rip the DVD onto my hard drive, then I use IFOEDIT to edit the .ifo files, then I use Nero to burn it onto a DVD-RW(this way it wont cost me a fortune messing around)....I still cannot get it to play in my standalone. Can someone please reply back with exactly what to do to set it up for burning? A list of the steps used in IFOEDIT and any other programs needed would be helpful. Also, all I am trying to do is burn a DVD less than 4.7GB, so I do not need any instructions of stripping just yet. Thanks a lot.

For DVD's less than 4.7GB in size, I use DVD Decrypter (link to it found on www.riphelp.com) to rip the DVD to an .iso file. Then Nero should be able to use the .iso file to re-create the original DVD to a DVD-R or -RW.
