are you supposed to make a temp folder? what will making a temp folder in the C:\ do?

btw, actually, mine is kind of locking up, too. am i doing something wrong here? i did the movies Blade 2 and Gladiator, and both turned out fine without using the smiley face method.

hate to say it, but i still see nothing on the pgceditview window. ive tried viewing vobs when i clicked the smiley face, it brought up a blank pgceditview window, and i also tried moving the slider.

Okay Razel -- Looked at the files -- Looks like PgcEditPreview is very picky about spaces in directory paths in the commandline -- and won't accept wildcard placeholders.

Try the below attachment -- It should work

I'm not sure of all the changes you have made -- Something is still slightly funky (Or not) with the Automatic Audio/Setup menu remapping on this menu during or before Happyface

All your audio/subtitle Menu buttons were killed (and that is very strange) never seen that before

I see that during shrink you left 1 audio and the french subtitle

Pls -- Zip up the video_ts.ifo and the largest Vts_??_0 ifo and vob from your "Pre Shrink Ripped directory"

I would like to readd this menu and see where those buttons are being killed.(Add Menu/Save Changes or Happyface)

french subtitles were left? hmm, it should have been english audio/english subtitles kept.

these are the steps that were used.

            1. rip with dvdfab decrypter
            2. shrink menu with menushrink
            3. reauthored doing movie only, keeping only english audio/subs and cutting intro and end credits
            4. ran titlewriter, opened reauthored movie and added the original menu from the ripped DVD using dvdfab.

yes... do you have msn messenger?

id like some help using your tool now if thats ok... i haveta go to bed soon, though. add me to msn:
rahzel85 (at) hotmail (dot) com if you have msn messenger.

if not, im stuck at this part of the smileyface help file:
Now we use the button to find the next vob in bottom list

and see if it points to the same (Page 1 Chapter 1) menu (In this case not -- but if it did the increase #Vobs/Menus for First ... by 1 if needed)
what do you mean by "#vobs/menus"?

ok, i have to go to bed now, but this is what i see... i have no idea what to do here. i fixed it so that the first page of chapters is pgc #7, but the last page of chapters, the pgc# that goes to the first page of chapters is #5. if i drag the #5 to the "pgc# containing first page of chapter menu" it changes it for all the settings in the previous vobs.

No -- No msn messenger -- I hope you hit undo -- readd menu again

as to that area -- Sometimes there will be multiple vobs/cells in a pgc containing the first page of the chapter menu (In the case of Batman begins -- there is only 1) so that field should be 1.

So if you are on Chapter select vob entry page for chapters 1-6 and hit the down arrow the next page is not a repeat but the page for ch 7-

The up/down buttons only highlight the Next/prior vob in the list - (and throw it in the thumbnail)

Does Pgc 3 vob 11 cell 1 (click on it) show audio thumb -- with any buttons(Blue rects) for selecting audio or subtitles --

You #'s for the pgc containing First page are off they should be 2

you got the right button for the setup in main menu (4)

i dont understand why it should be 2... pgc#2 is the button to go to the second chapter. by "pgc# containing First page of chapter menu", dont you mean the pgc that directs you to the first page of chapters (in this case, 7)?

im obviously doing it wrong, but can you tell me why its pgc#2 that goes under "pgc# containing First page of chapter menu"? in the help file, it also indicates that you should put the pgc# that goes to the first page in the "pgc# containing First page of chapter menu" box.

No I said it exactly right -- Button 2 of the play menu will contain the command to goto the chapter menu -- Pgc 2

You need to remember everything goes by what you see in the thumbnail -- The list is just a faster way to click through the vobs -- And many times a glance at the list (And their commands) will tell you which Pgc's are which

Pgc 2 contains the first page(start) of the chapter menu (Sometimes Multiple Pgc's are used for each seperate page of ch menu) -- Vob 2 cell 1 contains the first page of the chapter menu -- Then Tw needs to know if subsequent vobs (Vobs in list after V2 C1 contain a copy of the first page (Ch 1 -- ) of Ch Menu (In this case not but sometimes).

Vob 3 cell 1 contains the second page (click on it you will see buttons leading to ch 7--
And of course you see 6 buttons leading to the individual chapters
And the Pgc# containing page 2

From both (First page and Second)of the pgc's I can figure out the layout of the chapter menu.

Pgc 7 has absolutly nothing to do with chapters

You need to remember we are simplifying navigation directly from button to target without going through n different pgc's ,vobs and forced navigation

ahh, ok... i get it now.

i really don't know what pgc's are... im pretty noobish when it comes to DVD editing. i thought "pgc's" were the numbers in the thumbnails, but they are just the button numbers lol.

anyway, thanks for the help FA.

btw, will you include this "fixed" version in the next release, or was this version just for me?

edit: one more thing, although its not very important to me as i dont really care about the audio setup menu, but im curious. this is what i see in the audio menu... there are no buttons for the audio and subtitles. i kept the english audio and subtitles in dvdshrink, and i double checked to make sure. any idea why?

one last question, then i think i completely know how to use your program now.

some movies, when you hit the play button, it will go to a second menu asking you to select 16:9 or 4:3, or for extended cut movies, it asks whether you want to view the extended version or the theatrical version. my question is, will titlewriter link the play button to this second menu, or will it just play the movie?

FYI -- Did you catch on to the Drag thumbnail to PGC# (Click on Thumb (Outside of the blue button rects) and drag to Pgc# edit boxes

my question is, will titlewriter link the play button to this second menu, or will it just play the movie?
The command I insert into that button is Jump to Title 1 chapter 1 in this VTS
(Or "Start the Movie") -- thereby Bypassing that menu entirely (KISS rule)

"Fixed" will be in next release -- All the fix does is handle spaces/wildcards in filenames fed to pgceditpreview via commandline

im pretty noobish when it comes to DVD editing
Exactly why I wrote this -- for those people who need to "fix" a imported menu but don't have the background/time to learn internal DVD navigation (It can get very deep --Fast) so they can tinker Via say pgcedit

My problem was I needed to use some Dvd terms for sanitys sake.

I tried to give a noobie level "Intro to DVD internal menu guts 101" at the top of HappyfaceHelp

Yes your Post Add Menu/Happyface -- Audio/Setup Pgc is bugging me -- can't reproduce what you see at this end

??? Could those buttons be "killed" in the "Original" menu TW imported -- that would explain it all

Pls Zip Video_ts.ifo, And The Shrunk Menu ifo & vob (from DVDD or DVDFab output folder)(Vts_??_0.ifo and vob) and email them to me.
