Nero Vision Express crashes on 2GB+ output?

I have the impression that Nero Vision Express (v2.1.2.21) crashes - without a suitable error message, and after 2 hours processing - when the size of the output (Nero-format) MP4 file exceeds 2 GB.

    Has anybody a similar experience?

I don't user Nero Vision Express... however it sounds like you're using a drive that's formatted FAT32...

FAT32 has a 2gb file size limit. For files larger than that you have to save the output to a drive that's formatted NTFS.

      "FAT32 has a 2gb file size limit."

You are mistaken. FAT32 individual filesize limit is 4Gb, not 2Gb...

It sounds like NERO Express is using the "standard" .AVI format, which is limited to 2Gb individual filesize.

"Open DML .AVI" allows for far larger individual filesize...

Whoops you're right, FAT 32 is 4gb limit.. my mistake I think I was thinking of FAT 16...

But you're probably correct about the AVI format thing, I think I've read somewhere before that it's limited to 2gb, but I think that's a windows 98 limitation right...

That's what it says here anyway:

Sorry don't use Nero Vision Express myself...

            Thanks guys.
Sorry about the lack of information.
I am using Windows XP and NTFS formatted partitions.

The previous AVI-file format had a limit of 2 GB. I ran into that one a lot when I was storing analog video (MJPEG format) with a Pinnacle DC10 capture card on a Windows 98 and ME system.
When I migrated to my current XP system, I have used MJPEG files of several gigabytes in size, but the sheer size of these files makes it difficult to work with.
