What boards are you using to bring in video?

I have a raptor dv board, but I want to capture vhs signal and bring it into the computer and turn to MPEG2 with tmpg. I am looking at canopus advc board and also the Instant DVD.
Most important is good quality mpeg2 720X480. Are there other boards I should look at or what would you all recommend.
