"VirtualDubMod" is a "Separate" program (Freeware). Download it from here:

      CBR MPEG-1 Layer11 audio (MP2)

      instead of

"in the 4th step of the project wizard show 4 hrs 8 min..twice of the actual time..what should i do to work around this problem"

As is very typical with XviD files, the audio is in Variable Bitrate .MP3 format, that TMPGEnc cannot process properly. Therefore, Use VirtualDubMOD to Convert "VBR" .MP3 to Uncompressed .WAV as follows:

        1) Load the .AVI file into VirtualDubMOD (a different program than the standard VirtualDub)

        2) From the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Direct Stream Copy"

        3) From the "Streams" dropdown menu, select "Stream List" - and rightclick on the audio stream, then select "Full Processing Mode" - then click on "OK". Rightclick on the audiostream again, then select "Compression" and make certain it is set to "No compression (PCM)"

        4) From the "File" dropdown menu, save .AVI with a new filename

"i also would like to mention that while using the TMPGENC i selected the CBR MPEG-1 Layer11 audio (MP2) instead of CBR Linear PCM audio"

That's fine - and will make for a MUCH smaller total filesize...

That's because you most likely saved the output to an "Uncompressed" AVI file. Just save it again but this time choose either a DivX or XviD codec ("Video" > "Full Processing Mode" > "Video" > "Compression").
