    DVD-VR software compatibility

does anyone know which software is compatable with importing from dvd-vr discs?
I was using ulead dvd workshop, but the thing just keeps crashing out on me during multiplexing, and I'm growing tired of it.

I believe you'll find that "TMPGEnc DVD Author" (Different than "TMPGEnc" and "TMPGEncPlus") will accept .VRO files for input...

If you have more questions, always feel free to ask them...

      thanks for that....
but the question is, does it re-encode?
I need to re-encode the files for play on any standard dvd player.
I tried the free trial of TMPGenc, but it takes forever to encode (like 24 hours for 1-2 hours of footage) and the quality isn't that great
and I had heard that it was one of the best encoders. oh, and it didn't handle my AC-3 sound.

You're using the wrong program. As I said, use:

"'TMPGEnc DVD Author' (Different than 'TMPGEnc' and 'TMPGEncPlus')"

yeah, but dvd author doesn't re-encode the files, does it?
or do I not need to worry about that?
edit: it would appear that I don't need to re-encode, as I tried a test and it works fine on playstations as well as standalone players. thanks for your help!

I'm not familiar with the -vr but my LiteOn 5005 usta record in +VR format. I did a drag and drop of the VIDEO_TS folder and then burned with Nero.
