    Audio/Video Synch Problems

    Hello everyone!

I'm creating DVD's from home movies for over a year, but recently in everything that I create the audio is out of synch! No matter what program I use (Ulead DVD Workshop, DVD Lab Pro, Sonic DVDit, NeroVision Express) I have the same problem. I searched through internet and I found out that this is called audio stretching. While movie progress the audio is becoming out of synch more and more. For example the first 10 minutes are OK. But the last 10 are awful!! And the delay is not always stable.
My question is how to fix this in VOB files. Because the original files (MPEG2 4.2GB 1:20 duration) are just fine. The problem appears when creating the DVD files. I have absolutely no codecs installed in my system and I have even formated my HD and still nothing! What in hell is happening??

    thanx a lot in advance
    i'm in a desperate condition!

You must have altered something in your procedures or your system.

If you're running WinXP, perform a "System Restore" back to the last time things were working properly...

        Hi Everybody,

I`m also having bad sound sync problems, the original mpeg files are perfect all the way through, played with Nero Showtime or any media player I try. It`s just when converting to dvd that the problem happens. Nero is the worst, I`ve tried many others, I often think a new programame has cured it but when I do a longer file, the problems start again. I`n Nero Vision Express the sync is out when you preview the project before burning. If I add chapters it trips the sync back again but it drifts out later. Latest programme is TMPGEnc which is very good and easy to use, also have Neo DVD 7 trial, think that over compresses the final dvd but it`s a good easy programme to use.

One other point, I got Nero Suite 1 with the writer, I`m new to dvd on the pc but have 2 standalone recorders and not had many problems with them. Anyway, I had to buy a plug in to get any dvd functions which SVP don`t mention, I`ve upgraded to the latest Nerovision Express, according to their web site but when I try and do a editable dvd it says you haven`t got the full version?

Pity dvd players can`t have a menu function to offset audio video delays, would be very useful. Any more tips would be most welcome but I`m about to give up and have to put up with it and pretend it`s been overdubbed.

        Thanks...John

Well in the end I just separated the video and the audio track. I noticed in when the audio becomes too much asynchronised, and corrected the audio file with a wave editor (eg Cool Edit, Audiotorium etc). Actually, I was carefully 'stretching' the audio. Then all back together and it seems just fine. I use DVD Lab Pro. Excellent program!

Anyway this isn't a solution! You need hundrends of hours to do sth like this!
