problem using nero vision - making chapters

hi all. I have made 3 other dvds in the past using Nero with no problems now i'm having a problem. here is what i'm doing. i have an AVI file that i take into nero vision to detect chapters and to make menus and eventually burn onto dvds. Now, I take my avi file and start up nero vision, when i get to the detecting chapters part, it starts then STOPS usually at about 30%-49% done. So i figured it was a corrupt avi file. so i tried a diff avi file from another source and tried it again. same thing - Stops in the middle> Any ideas why all of a sudden my nero vision is halting in the middle of detecting chapters???
