There are quite a few people who actually got the program for free. Among them pretty much all beta testers and those who wrote guides about editing DVDs with DvdReMake. Those who helped us translate site and guides also got it for free. In other words practially everyone who helped with DvdReMake development and popularization got it for free. But not only.

Those who spend their time helping others to get through the complex subject of DVD editing and (re)authoring also get it for free. We were happy to offer free DvdReMake Pro license to moderators and active (read helpfull) users on many forums.

Does the Merge DVD function produce a seamless merger?When I want to make a single dvd from two parts,does it automatically go to the second part after completion of first?

Depends on how you merge disks. If you use "Merge DVD" ( http://www.dimadsoft.com/dvdremakepro/ht_merge_full.php ) function it puts 2+ (up to 4) DVDs on same disk. These DVDs are completele independant. A "start up" menu is created to choose which one you want to play. But it is possible to insert few commands in DVD navigation structure to play them one after another without user selection (there are some tips on how to do it in DvdReMake user manual: http://www.dimadsoft.com/dvdremakepro/download.php )

But you can also just appent movie from second disk to PGC with first part of a movie. This way it is possible to produce seamless merger.

You can try all editing functions of the program with demo version. But during the export only first 15 seconds of each chapter (or menu) will be exported.

That's what I meant. Basically, it is not a full demo, like one of those 30-day trials that the only limitation is the time.

About the affiliate thing... I have a website (here), but it doesn't have to do with digital video editing... it is more just all my random files I have accumulated over the years. I just use my knowledge to help people here.

But, when you were saying that if you put a banner ad, that each person who buys it, you get 40% off, does that mean that if 3 people buy it, that it would be free for me?

Just to update dimad's comparison post:

VobBlanker can do the following:

2, 5, 6, 9, 17 and 19 (via backup folder), while PgcEdit can also do many of the things in the list.

It is very fair to say that DVD Remake Pro is a terrific all in one tool and we are grateful for dimad dropping in occasionally to help us with DVD Remake Pro issues.

I give enormous credit to all 3 developers and we are very thankful they are here for us.

Additional update...

VobBlanker also does 4, 12 (in 13, it can easily blank all non-buttons cells, but this cannot be considered as hide).. and I should say 18. In the last release 2.1.0.0 I've put much code to fix IFOs and VOB problems.

I believe VobBlanker and DVDRemake play in different ligue..., but I've to say I never downloaded DVDRemake, mainly to avoid any kind of unintentional similitude between the programs. I'm very respectful with dimad, and his work, and although I read a lot of good things about his programs I prefered to do not see them.

One sharing feature between VobBlanker & DvdRemake is ... both can easily blank out unwated titles/chapters

Ooops, sorry, you are right. I read DISable... No, VobBlanker is not able to enable, so delete 12 from the list

Up to 40%. 40% is for larger amount. But if you purchase 5 licenses without discounts you will get extra one for free.

You're right with 17. I've heard about this nice DVDRemake feature... VobBlanker has a "simple" GOTO 10% but without analyzing the video.

I think it would be interesting to compare the all in one DVD Remake Pro with VobBlanker together with PgcEdit.

Using dimad's list, PgcEdit can, for example, do 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 17 (except the automatic analysis part) as well as many of the other tasks that VobBlanker can do.

DVD Remake Pro still "leads" in the complicated areas of angles/ILVU and merging DVDs (keeping both menus!) and previewing with full audio and subpix!

I love DVD Remake Pro as you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure out how to do things. Also I love the ablity to disable menu buttons, and easily convert menus to still images.

IMHO, this is the point. I never played it DVDRemake, but seems very easy to novice users. As a drawback, they won't learn the DVD internal things (but, probably they are not interested in)

This feature is also in VobBlanker, even with custom bmps, but IMHO the winner here (in terms of easy to use) is menushrink.

Dimad, is there a way to buy a CD-ROM version, preferrably in a store? Or is it from your site only?
