Anyone know any good avi to m2v/mpa converters?

i've tried tmpg but it takes like 4 hours for me. winavi video converter takes about 1 hour and a few minutes but it doesn't do m2v/mpa only dvd (vob) for output.

Usually it will take time to convert and as Paglamon suggested, TMPGEnc is one of the Best encoders available today, try it.

HC_GUI/HC Enc is excellent for high quality m2v output
besweet/belight can be used for the audio part

that's fine. m2v is an extention given to mpeg-2 video streams (no audio).

use tmpgenc's "mpeg tools" to demux, you'll end up with m2v/mp2

but winavi is crap, use tmpgenc or HC enc as suggested
