Open GOP's ?

I use WinDVD Cretor to capture and edit video then import the resulting MPEG2 into DVDLab for making the menu etc.

After importing the MPEG2 I get the following report "open GOP's were detected in the file" . Anyone know what this means ?.

Its fine, no worries, GOP(Group of Pictures). See this article for the insight into MPEG and GOP's.

An open GOP is one where some frames are dependent on other frames in earlier GOPs (B frames). This is no big deal unless you cut the move at an open GOP, in which case a couple of Bs may not be decoded properly. But then within the next 1/2 second, along comes another I-frame and all is OK.

As for the avatar Les, I reckon it's wishfull on your part, you cannot imagine that we are going to give it up that easily. To beat you on your home ground will be proof enough that we are the true and rightful custondians of this revered trophy.
