Changing menu text

I want to edit some text on the menu of a dvd (its not a proprietry movie).
The text is just that (ie its not a button).
Read a bit in the stickys and downloaded Titlewriter but to be honest, I'm lost.
The DVD doesn't have a main menu as such. Just a few menu pages of scene selection, forward and back buttons to jump between pages, no other buttons and some very annoying text.
I should say that I've NO experience of editing/authoring.
Any help (for a relative dummy) much appreciated.

Thanks - looks pretty straight forward.
Can I do what I want to do with the demo version, or do I need the full program?

Demo has all the editing functionality of full version, but it will export only first 15 seconds of each chapter.
