Vobblanker newbie help

basically, i want to keep the full DVD intact (including all the menus/links/buttons intact), except remove all of the extras/intros/warnings etc. would it be safe to just blank out all the VTS except the main movie?

are all menu titles kept, even if you blank out a VTS? i noticed when i blanked out a VTS, i checked the menu and it was still listed as "keep".

are menu titles ever listed in the "titleset" box?

i heard vobblanker does not support multi angles and "ILVU titles" (i read it from the cdfreak boards). what are "ILVU titles"?

If you blank out every VTST (bottom half of the interface, after you have selected a titleset) except the main movie, that's what you'll get.

The warnings are usually kept in various cells or PGCs in either VIDEO_TS.VOB or sometimes in a PGC/cell in a menu VOB (VTS_0x_0.VOB). Double click to see a list of PGC, which you can preview.

The menus are kept unless you blank out parts of them.

In the first instance, try auto-blanking (not good for episodic DVDs). Alt-t for autoblanking.

I always tick "Use input folders" to retain structural integrity of the DVD. Also, make sure multiple backup folders is checked in your preferences.

VobBlanker does not support titles with angles or InterLeaVed Units at this stage.

oh, few more questions. when you use the preview & cut option, can you cut to the middle of a cell? i get a message that says "the selected GOP is an open one, so if this mark is the init of the playback, vobblankers will mark it as a broken GOP to allow to be properly decoded". does that mean i cannot cut halfway through a cell?

also, can you open a copy righted DVD directly with vobblanker, or do you have to decrypt it first or run a onthefly decrypter like anydvd?

Yes.

Don't worry about the broken GOP message. Just say OK.

No, it needs decrypting. Not with an on the fly thing. Rip to a folder with DVD Decrypter is my advice.
