    Burning divx to DVD

    Hey guys,

I have a Divx6 video file that has 5.1 AC3 audio. Is there a way to burn it to a DVD so that it will play in a standard DVD player and keep the 5.1 audio? I have nero ultra and nerovision express.

    Thanks
    Jim

    Reauthor using TMPGEnc or AVI2DVD.

that's a good guide LT linked you to. I would definitely demux the audio/video. encode the video to dvd spec's. use Tmpgenc dvd author to make menu, chapters etc.

I'm confused about demuxing. At least the definition. Right now I have AC3 5.1 audio. Isnt' that the standard for DVD? I picture demuxing turns the audio into 2.0 stereo which is not what I want. Also, I guess there's no free way to do this either?

demuxing separates streams, doesn't alter the content in any way

avi2dvd to encode to mpeg2, then ifoedit or dvdauthorgui, then imgburn

Hey thanks, avi2dvd worked awesome. I used one of the articles to find out how to use it. Unfortunately the article skipped over how to make menu's and what if you have multiple avi files and you want multiple videos on a DVD. Is there a better article out there?

You can easily create a compilation of your single clips with DVD Shrink in reauthor mode. You can even create simple menus for the compilation with TitleWriter. Both are free.

If you want a more professional look, you have to use an authoring program. I recommend DVD-Lab pro, but it is relatively expensive.
