- PGCEDIT 7.3 - I want to start DVD with Scene Selection Menu
Please zip up your menu files and post them somewhere. If too big for an attachment here, try rapidshare.
Menus are VTS_0X_0.VOB and VIDEO_TS.VOB
Why have you deleted ALL commands off the DVD? This makes it very hard. Go back to before you did that and repost the IFOs please. It's a lot easier to edit than create out of thin air. I know for sure a merge with DVD Remake Pro does not leave a DVD looking like this.
Also, what did you use to mux the titles? Every cell has a "non-seamless" flag set - meaning there will be a little layer-break like pause at the end of each cell. This will be very annoying!!!
"Why have you deleted ALL commands off the DVD?"
I didn't delete ALL the commands .. well if I did, they were accidents/screw-ups by me.
"Go back to before you did that and repost the IFOs please." I'm not sure what this means but I'll send the IFOs per movie in separate zip files (i.e. the ones that went through PGCEDIT & VOBBLANKER but not yet merged together). Is this ok? I assume you mean send the IFOs of each movie separately before I used DVDREMAKE PRO for merging, right?
Also, what did you use to mux the titles?
I didn't like the default MAIN MENU (that brown-ish one!) I got after merging the DVDs in DVDREMAKE PRO so I made a new one. When I replaced block & imported the new one via Muxman, the 3 buttons disappeared. I assume that's how you replaced the background image of the default main menu. I couldn't see how to do it in PGCEDIT so I did it in DVDREMAKE PRO instead.
No, please do not post the 3 separate sets of IFOs, but the IFOs and menu VOBs directly after the 2 merge operations in DVD Remake Pro.
As for replacing menu backgrounds, see the new sticky - animated guide to replacing menus in VobBlanker.
It is not the menus that exhibit these cell flag issues - it is the titles. Have a look by double clicking one one of them and viewing the cell flags - note the layer break flag is ticked on every cell.
You probably didn't input your command set in muxman. See how to do the menu background substitution in VobBlanker in the sticky as advised in my previous post (see here). But save your IFOs first!
I'll take a look at them.
EDIT: Those IFOs are one movie only - not after DVD Remake Pro merge. Need to see the latter.
Not without your merged IFOs from DVD Remake Pro. These will have about 15 VTSs. Post 37 includes just 1 movie with 5 or 6 VTSs. It will look like post 32's IFOs, but will have commands in the PGCs.
"Those IFOs are one movie only - not after DVD Remake Pro merge. Need to see the latter.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> I’m afraid those IFOs are the only ones I found in the EXPORT DVD folder (where DVDREMAKE’s output went to after merging). The only other IFOs I got are for each individual movie before merging them.
The only other things I can post are more screenshots.
Hi
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> In the IFO zip there should be VIDEO_TS.IFO plus about 15 VTS.IFO files. A total of 16 items in that zip.
<o></o> Here it is again.
Those are the same IFOs are you provided in post 32. Somehow, ALL the commands have gone. See - there's nothing on the right hand side under pre/post/cell?
Compare that to the IFOs for the single movie you provided.
I don't know how all the commands have gone - only that it will be impossible to advise you without them.
By the way, is there any reason you are not using the latest version of DVD Remake Pro? (I know you mentioned it crashed on some of the other stuff - this is puzzling). I still think you should login and update to 3.5.3.
How about if I do a "movie only"/multi-movie DVD compilation with DVDSHRINK first?
Then insert the original scene selection menus using PGCEDIT and / or VOBBLANKER or into that compilation.
In fact I have done a 3-movie compilation already with DVDSHRINK. Would it be useful if you check out its IFOs if I post them? No menus in there obviously.
Blutach, you did a guide on "Adding Back Original Menus to a DVD Shrink and Nero Recode Reauthored DVD", right? The guide was for 1 movie DVD ... what about "movie only"/multi-movie DVD compilation?
If not possible, then use something like TITLEWRITER or DVDSTYLER or DVDAUTHORGUI anything else? Muxman?
It's puzzling to me that DVDSHRINK will let you keep some subtitles using Re-Author mode but when importing them in other software like NERO RECODE or TMPEG DVD AUTHOR or ULEAD DVD MOVIE FACTORY, you'll lose them? What the point keeping them if the other DVD authoring software won't take them? I hope I'm right about TITLEWRITER or DVDSTYLER.
Hi
I just used DVDSHRINK 3.2 to do a movie compilation with 3 movies.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p> </o:p>
Now I want to add back the scene/chapter menus back to each movie with TITLEWRITER.
<o:p> </o:p>
I also want to create my own
I'm just waiting for any TITLEWRITER or DVDSTYLER expert to advice me on that ... particularly FALLEN ANGEL obviously!
Then do final fix-ups with PGCEDIT / VOBBLANKER.
A few points/questions about TITLEWRITER & DVDSTYLER:
- I tried to download the menu templates for TITLEWRITER but the link doesn't work
I could use some good simple-to-follow guides on TITLEWRITER & DVDSTYLER ... ones with pictures!
As for that 5.1 to 2.0 audio conversion thing, I still dunno where to get that kinda guide. Mostly I've spotted doing the vice versa. What's the technical term for 5.1 to 2.0 conversion .. is it Dolby Digital to PCM or LPCM or something?
I'm considering ripping the movie into DVD compliant MPEG-2, the output should instantly be 2.0, right? What the best DVD RIPPING software for doing that? IMTOO DVD RIPPER PLATINUM or anything will do?
Then use a software (or more than 1 if required) to add back the subtitle streams on to that output.
Not sure if this is possible & with what software(s).
Or if keeping the 5.1 audio, use the DHDSHRINK-TDA route & use something to add back the subtitle streams on to that output. TDA's menu templates are not that bad! & it remembers/maintains the chapter points from DVDSHRINK! I think TDA got a AC-3 plugin thing but not to sure if that will reduce 5.1 to 2.0.
