    DVD Authoring software

I have ordered my pioneer A04 DVD-R drive & need help with the software to author my own DVDs

I am wanting one that can have video & audio in the menu's and that can have a mix of widescreen & 4:3 video's and I also need to be able to split a long video up into chapters, or any one of the above 3.

any help would be much appreciated.

price is not important because my work will be paying what ever it takes.

If price doesen't matter and you want to author as a Pro(you want to author commercial DVD's) than get the 15k-39k (USD) - Scenarist!

Also the Pioneer A04 DVD-R drive won't do if you want to author Commercial Dual-Layer DVD's!You'll need a DLT Drive to author Dual-Layer.

      Hope this helps!

        1) First you want to get your format of VIDEO or whatever into DVD format , Try TMPGenc (30 day trila version lets you do DVD for you guesed it, 30 days),

        2) Then you can Author it with Ulead DVD movie factory. This will get you menues/chapters. If you set the quality to low, you can get 4 or more hours on a DVD (when I say low it does not mean bad!! just not as good), also a 30 day trial.
Turn your life’s best moments into stunning movies with Corel VideoStudio! Get creative with drag-and-drop stylish templates, artistic filters, titles, transitions, and the whole palette of advanced editing tools. Get your FREE trial.

This will get you started. TMPEG is faster at converting non DVD formats to DVD compliant MPG than movie factory (in my opinion) but I have not sat down and compared results. but MOVIE factory CAN do it all, either way it take time. I have the same DVD writer.

I have the 104 which is the same as the A04 in specification but it has no bundled software so you should have authoring software come with it.

If I have wasted your time sorry if not i am glad to have helped.

          cheers guys.

I know about mpeg2 etc and DVDs, it's just the software that i need with the above specs (unfortunately £5k is the max the company will stretch to, i had no idea scenarist was that much!)
