ISO vs. Video_TS and encoding question (noobish)

Hey guys,

I'm a real dvd video newb, and I'm just wondering is there any advantage to burning an ISO image over burning a Video_TS file? I've been using avi2dvd, and I uncheck "make ISO" because I know I can just burn the Video_TS. I do have an image burner, is it advantageous to burn an image instead of videots?

Also, does encoding usually take ~3 hours for a full-size movie?

I like iso because it is one file, encoding three hours in shrink with AEC and deep An. is normal for not/duo computer

No advantage to ISO at all, in fact, some disadvantages.

3 hours sounds long if you have a modern PC. Check your DMA.

Well, I guess modern is relative I have an Athlon XP 2500+ and 1.5 GB ram. I'm sorry, what is DMA

Yea man, UDMA is enabled. Let me tell you what I'm doing:

I'm using avi2dvd to convert ~700MB Divx files into DVD files. I'm using the HCenc (0.1.6 I think).

When I converted a few days ago it took about 1:40:00 for each of the two passes. How long does it normally take?

There is a later version of HCEnc. 0.18 if I'm not mistaken.

Well, that may be OK for HC. It is pretty slow. Do upgrade to .18 - it is the latest stable AFAIK.
