Curious Why R4Me Failed but DVDFab Decrypter Didn't

I always use R4Me and it never fails. This time it did.

I had to use DVDFab Decrypter and it worked fine.

This might be caused by a slightly defective disc, or scratches, or it could be a protection
You can still try to rip, or abort and clean your DVD, or use another drive if you have one.

I tried cleaning the DVD and it still wouldn't rip with R4Me.

@idontno, need to update fixvts to 1.6. Get it here. Hope this helps. To add to ur RipIt4Me error loading ifo's I was told to check the condition of my disc and my drive.

There a new function you can try - see the version history.

- Added option in the INI file to select which function to use to copy the original IFOs.
You can try to switch if you get an error message "ERROR: video_ts.ifo declares X VTS, and I'm finding only Y on the disc".
UseMSFuncToCopyIFOs = 1 will use the Microsoft API. Set it 0 to use a custom copy function that reads directly from the ISO file system. It's 0 by default.

With RipIt4Me closed, open the INI file. Change your INI, save it and close it. Then restart RipIt4Me and try again.

@idontno, if it is set 2 "0" then leave it. I had the same problem ur having now only mine was set 2 "1" and I had to change mine. I also had to change where fixvts was pointing and now it seems to b working fine.

In any event, it doesn't go down well to give advice that is directly contrary to what the author is saying, does it?

idontno's setting is 0, for sure. He has the exact error message. So, he should do what the author suggests and change it to 1 - at least for this DVD.

It still won't rip this one DVD.

Like I said, I have already ripped it with DVDFab.

I'm just curious as to why R4Me is having problems with this one.

I just tried DVDD on it's own w/o R4Me and this popped up...

It wouldn't let me choose another region, but after I clicked [OK] 3 times it started ripping.

@idontno, if u made any changes I recommended please go back to the way it was setup originally. As 2 y RipIt4Me is having problems with this dvd, that is a good question. I had the same problem ur having and backed it up successfully with an older version. Im not telling u thats what u need to do, but it worked 4 me. Im still going to purchase another drive to b sure the drive is the problem.
