    Making a Episode DVD

    Is there a way to make an episode DVD. I have the Sonic Software but I get audo sync problems with even a .mpeg file, the more episodes added the worse the sync gets. I have shut down programs, defrag HDD also.

    I know how to take a .mpeg and demux then author the DVD files (VOB's, IFO's, and BUP's) then I open in Shrink or DVD-RB and encode. Problem is I can do that for 1 episode. Is there a way to process with Shrink or DVD-RB (free) with multiple episodes which have the DVD files? Basically I should be able to get 3 episodes on a DVD so I would have 3 folders each with its own DVD files for the episode.

    Thanks in advance.

    You can easily create a compilation of several episodes with DVD Shrink in re-author mode. Use the browser tab to import each episode, and drag-drop them in the left pane.

    BTW, the navigation capabilities of a compilation made with DVD Shrink are somewhat limited. You can improve them with the DVDShrink plugin for PgcEdit.

      Is this basically doing the same as if I were to use BenBryants guide for VOBEdit and IFOEdit?

      If so is it on your site?

        I don't know BenBryants guide, sorry. Where is it located?

        Yes, the plugin can be downloaded on my site (in the plugins section.)
        Basically, it adds the option to use the Title Menu button to jump to the next Title, but there are many other options, such as looping back to the first title when the last one has finished playing. Try it, it's easy.

          Ben's guide is in the stickies. If it's the one I'm thinking of, it would be different.

          Follow r0lZ's advice and if you're eps are too big, then re-encode. The basic authoring can and should be done in DVD Shrink (uncompressed) and PgcEdit.

              Authoring

              @Blutach

              not sure what you mean by The basic authoring can and should be done in DVD Shrink (uncompressed) and PgcEdit

              I believe I have already authored the .mpeg to DVD files since I have a VIDEO-TS folder with .VOB's, .IFO's, BUP's. I would have one set of authored DVD files for each episode. Please explain what you mean by authoring with Shrink? I have used the reauthor feature but only for a single DVD title with 1 VIDEO-TS folder.

              Thanks

                Re-read my post above. You CAN use Shrink to create a compilation from various DVD sources.

You can improve them with the DVDShrink plugin for PgcEdit. I didn't know PgcEDit was a plugin for Shrink. I have herd of the program and you are saying to process each episode set of files with PgcEDIT then process with Shrink. This will make a menu????

                    I didn't say that PgcEdit is a plugin for Shrink, but that it has a Shrink plugin designed, among other things, to improve the compilations made by Shrink. I didn't say neither to process each episode with PgcEdit.

                    And, no, PgcEdit cannot make a menu (although you can import back the original menu of a DVD with PgcEdit), but it can improve the navigation of a DVD Shrink compilation. For example, you can use PgcEdit with the Shrink plugin to enable the Title Menu button to jump directly to the next title in the compilation. Without that function, you have to fast forward to the end of the current title. This is only an example. Try it to see what it can do.

                    Anyway, my last post referred to a post where I explain that it is possible to create a compilation of titles from several different DVDs, and put them together in one single DVD with Shrink in re-author mode. That's what you want to do, no?

                    So, to summarize, you have to create the compilation with Shrink, and then, if you want, use PgcEdit with the Shrink plugin to improve the navigation.

                    If you really want a menu, you don't need PgcEdit. Try TitleWriter instead.

                    In all cases, you MUST first begin by doing what I suggest in my first post:

                    Is it so complex?

                      @rOlZ,

                      Thanks, you jsut threw me with this statement You can improve them with the DVDShrink plugin for PgcEdit.

                      I think I see how to use the brower tab to import other DVD file sets. Even if I have to press NEXT on my remote to get to the next episode that is OK with me.

                      Thank you,

                      AV

                        Next doesn't work with a DVDShrink compilation, unless a dummy tiny chapter is present at the end of the title. Again, you can enable the Next button with the plugin.
