    Trimming Audio Files

I am having a new need to trim audio files because when I add a song to my cellphone and use it as a ring tone usually I want my favourite part to play instead of the whole song.

What can I use to trim the song from point a to b so that when I send it to my phone it only plays the portion that I like. Any ideas which programme I can use to do this?

Depends on the type. mp3DirectCut, for example can do lossless splitting of mp3/mp2, delaycut can do dts/ac3

      Phillip,

What format does your cell phone accept these ring tones in?

I think it gets converted to aac or mp4....in any case I will have a wma file on my pc or mp3 that I will trim and then load to the cell...

the conversion to the cell format happens automatically once I load into PC Suite so lets work with wma and mp3.

What can i use to trim wma or mp3 to a portion i want?

          Hi Phillip,

Thanks for your reply ... I was curious, because whatever you are using to convert to AAC should give you the choice to Trim ...

Anyways, you can use the following programs ...

          1) Audacity 1.3 (Freeware) ... nice tool.

          2) Wavepad (Trial software ... I think 30 days).

          Post back with your results.

          G!
