Fixing a DVD With Midstream Synch Probs

    Hi Y'All,

I'm trying to fix a dvd with an audio synch problem. The first part of the film is in synch, and so is the last part, but there is a section in the middle that is out.

Any ideas what the best course of action might be? I can't afford any commercial programs. At this point I'm thinking my only option is to convert to avi, resynch with Virtual Dub, and reconvert to m2v, but I really hate to do all that reconverting. It's an old movie and the quality isn't very good to begin with.

    Thanks!

I haven't had any replies on this yet....no opinions?

I was thinking, what if I demuxed the VOBs, made a copy of the m2v for safe keeping, then converted the other copy with the audio to avi for editing, fixed the synch problem, encoded back to m2v, ac3, then instead of using the re-encoded m2v, use the one I put away for safe keeping (that wasn't messed with so much) along with the "fixed" audio file to rebuild the dvd? Would it work, do you think? (anyone???)
