please help me burn dvd movies to dvd-r

i recently got a new computer for college and i got a dvd burner on it . i would really like to burn movies. if you have any good ideas on how this would be done let me know. and if you have any good sites of programs please post them too.

it will take u time and some ruined dvdr but u will get it

smart ripper

an encoding software if over 4.3 gig
and authoring softwarz I use Ulead dvd Factory to make menus
buring fortwars I use Prassi amybe ti came whith your computer
try the newbies sections to lean all u can about.
start by ripping a dv to your hard drive
and see how big it is , if under 4.5 gigs u can go tothe next step and forget encoding for over 30 hours.
go to authoring and burning
but start with ripping one first, as soon as the ripper read the dvd files u already know how big the dvd is without evern waiting to ripp
