    cutting an MPEG

    Hello,

How do I cut an DVD MPEG2? I was looking for some freeware tools that will get the job done automatic. Nothing where I have to line it up and cut. Can someone please assist? Thank you.

Try VideoRedo Plus. Not free though. But an excellent software.

Have a look at this also.

Are you familar with MPEG2cut? How do I use it? It's freeware. Are there any tutorials for MPEG2cut?

No.I have never used it. But it looks pretty straight forward. Open ur file in MPEG2Cut. Mark the IN and OUT points of the part you want to keep and the save the selection.

That sounds to complicated. I am looking for a program that will cut on it's own automatic. It I wanted to tell it where to cut then I would use MPEG tools in my encoder of TMPGEnc Plus. The reasons why I won't use it cause it to complicated and it is not automatic.

Do you really think that you will find a tool that knows where YOU want to cut the file?

You find VideoReDo or MPEG2Cut too complicated ? LOL. Then I cannot help any further. VideoReDo is one of the most intuitive softwares I have come across.

If I remember correctly the older TMPGEnc encoder products can do cutting/editing.

                TMPGEnc Basic (mpeg1) freeware
                TMPGEnc Plus (mpeg2) not freeware
