Help with burning a dvd-r plz

OK to start with ive been using spruceup, and ive got all the files sorted right. Im tryig to use nero to burn the dvd-r with. Now ive just installed the dvdrw burner and i left a cdrw burner in my machine as a second. When i put a blank dvd-r (tdk) the drive cannot find the medium, could that be because i have 2 recording drives in the machine.?
Im sure i have all the drivers and stuff installed right, and im using nero 5582.

Please if any1 can help it would be great

to start with the basics m8 have u got 1 of the drives set to master and the other 1 set to slave with the jumpers at the back of the drives.

Click on "my computer" and see if your operating system is
seeing both of the drives. If not you have a config issue.

Another Tip

Go to Nero and select the recording drive (DVD RW in this case) and then insert your blank DVD media. Click on "Medium info" and see if you get info like "balnk medium or something". if not again you have a config issue.
