    Tv capture your dvd

I dont know if anybody has tried this or not but I was fooling around and I hooked my tv capture card to my dvd player through the svideo output/input, lo and behold it worked, I was like okay well maybe it wont capture but it did I did mpeg-1 and mpeg-2 and since it was caputered as so there was no conversion needed. All I did was I burend to a blank DVD-r and put it in my dvd setop and that worked as well also.

The only problem is I want to fit a 2 hour 30 min dvd onto a dvd-r and I need to know if you lower the capture rate will it still work as a dvd. The standard data rate is 6 megs per I want to lower it to somthing like 5.5 or 5.75 I just dont want to waste any dvds.

    Somebody help thanks!!!
