I see that the "leda" dvd's use the light purple format on it. So far I've seen only the dark purple (Ritek, TDK, Maxell, and Verbatim's from what I've seen so far) are the only ones that are reliable. I've had a bad bulk of light purple dvd's that wouldn't even burn data reliably let alone dvd backups.

        Ritek under the Primedisc Name

I agree that the light purple dvds are unreliable. It dosnt really matter who makes them; Ive always had problems with them.

I have been using the dark purple Riteks, under the Primedisc Name. They work like a charm with no coasters yet. I buy them at www.shop4tech.com

There is a really good deal on Ebay for 100 packs of Ritek 4x DVDs for $175.00. I have not tried these Ritek 4 xers yet but am hoping somone will report on them soon.
