Recommended Freeware Backup Program

Hi there,

I am so new to working with DVD's that my DVD burner is on the way ! I would appreciate any advice on backup software particularly (in the first instance) Freeware. Does DVD X Copy provide a trial version ? Any help or advice will be much appreciated from those who know better.
