Although the best feature of the excellent DVD Shrink is that it's freeware, you might want to try DVD2One (extremely fast) or DVD95Copy...

        I beg to differ, setarip.

Its best feature is that of all the "one-click" softwares, DVD Shrink 2.3 gives the best results.

But don't take my word for it, cypher007, please try them all.

P.S: while you're at it, you might also want to try CloneDVD.

cypher007, here are 2 threads containing links to comparison tests I did.

          DVD2One / DVD Shrink:

          CloneDVD / DVD Shrink

As I said in both this threads, the difference in quality is not as pronounced during normal viewing, but is still very much noticeable.

FYI, DVD Shrink captures are A2 and B1 for the first test.
You can notice how DVD2One has smooth the image so much that all the grain from the original has disappeared, mainly replaced by blocks of color.
In the second test, A1 and B1 are from DVD Shrink.

              thanks dvdshrink

i will try dvdshrink on a particularly tricky scene in ai which had dvd95copy going all blocky. you could try it also, its the bit in the film where jude law is flying the plane through some clouds and the camera zooms into a view of the bear in the cockpit, it has a lot of mist moving in front of the bear which tends to sort the girls from the boys in the dvd re-encoder tests.
