Formating dvd-rw disks

Just bought 25 Pack DvdPro DVD-RW 4.7GB Media for General Use $1.14 Each Free Ground Shipping.

On their web page they say these disks
must be formatted.

I am new too dvd (I have had a combo dr on my hp notebook for over a year)

How would I go about formatting the disks?

Normally, this only has to be done if you wish to have your system "see" the DVD-R/W as another hard drive.

You should NOT have to do this if you intend to use the DVD-R/Ws for duplicating or creating DVDs...
