I had the same problem when using Nero 5.5.10.42 on my Ricoh MP5125A. I narrowed it down to an issue with InCD running at hte same time. I uninstalled InCD & problem solved.
Have since upgraded to Nero 6 and have not had same problem, even whilst InCD installed

"been copying dvd's ok for ages but just started getting these error messages today"

Have you run a DVD/CD cleaning disc on your burner recently? Maxell makes one that retails for approximately $10US...

I have had the same error with 5.5.10.42. I also have a Ricoh MP5125A.

It happens on RW's when i try and erase them. Usually, it is down to a fingerprint on the edge of the disc. Once, it was rubbed off it is fine.

I also got it once with burning at 99% with a +R.

would, I be better off with Nero 6?

                To nwg

I continue to use NERO v.5.5.10.42 without any problems.

You've described what appears to be an isolated incident...

(Just be careful as to where you put your fingers ;>})

                  Found The Problem!!!

I've traced the problem back to cheap media...

...The media i was getting the SCSI target errors was 'Bulkpaq' DVD+R which i bought cheap (spindle of 10 for £10)...

I usually buy verbatim dvd+r's (£5 dearer though!!)

I aint knocking the disks though, they maybe great with most of you but aint no good for me ( using the philips 228k burner!)...

...Would be interested in anybodys views on this media..

                  ...........Thanks folks!!

                  Dave.

                    Back again...

                    ...I upgraded nero to 5.5.10.50

                    Aint noticed any difference though.
Still get target errors using bulkpaq dvd+r's
but dont get target errors with verbatims!!

You should have mentioned this significant change and difference in your initial post.

                      Be that as it may, congratulations on resolving your dilemma ;>}
