DVD Burning

I'm pretty new to this burning of DVD's and I have done quite a few by backing them up with DVD Shrink and burning them with Nero. But I was wondering how I could download them from the internet and then burn them onto DVD. What programs would be the best to use and maybe a tutorial. Any help would be great, thanks in advance.

Download what from the internet? And do you want to find out how to download it (not appropriate for this forum), or how to burn it to DVD?

I would just like to know how to burn them so I can play them on a DVD player. What kind of software should I use. I downloaded some offline and some other stuff I got from my digital camera and put it on my computer using VideoWave. I just don't know what formats are used to burn a DVD or programs. Like mpeg, avi, etc.
