Use DVD Decrypter to "rip" the DVD to a folder on your hard drive in "File" mode - and from the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "All files" (NOT "movie files").

"DVD Decrypter" is the name of a SPECIFIC program...

        You can download it from:

          Thanks

Thanks for your help. I am going to download it. I noticed that it is free, but the guy ask for a donation. I do not mind giving a donation if the program is worth it. What do you think?

I just finished decrypting a DVD movie, but I am having trouble opening it up in WinDVD. What am I doing wrong?

You need to open and play the VIDEO_TS.IFO file in WinDVD. If this does not work then the IFO file is not in sync. You will need to create or update these using IFOEDIT, another program.

You might try want to try DVD2ONE at first. It is not free but it is very simple to use since it has few user options and creates a solid set of ripped files.

I also like and use DVD Decrypter but there many more "holes" to fall into. Those same holes are great features once you get the most basic copying procedure going.

(I'm assuming that you used DVD Decrypter to "rip" the DVD to a folder on your hard drive in "File" mode - and from the "Edit" dropdown menu, select "All files" [NOT "movie files"])

Change the folder name to (MUST be all capitals) VIDEO_TS - and move it to the root directory of your C:\ drive. Then open WinDVD.

(If you have a recent version of WinDVD, you don't have to move the VIDEO_TS folder - just select "Open DVD")

I did use DVD Decrypter to "rip". Sorry, but I am not sure what "File" mode you are talking about. I do not remeber selecting either "All Files" or "movie files". I'm very new at this.

Click on the "Mode" dropdown menu and select "File"

Have you as yet done what I suggested?

That did it thanks a lot. I really appreciate it. One more question, I do not know if this is the right forum for this question, but what do I need to hook my computer up to my tv to view my saved DVD's. I have a laptop (DELL Inspiron 600M).
