DVD runs on PC but not on stand-alone

I decrypted a movie (Two Towers) with Decrypter on two discs and burned it with Clone-DVD. Normally I never have problems with burning DVD's but with the splitted DVD of LOTR my stand-alone DVD Philips 957 doesn't accept the disk.
He just can't read it. My DVD-rom in my PC runs the movie without problems.
    I use DVD-R DVD's with a NEC 1300A burner.
If I burn the movie with exactly the same settings on an DVD-RW it runs on the stand-alone.

Hope someone can help me out!

What brand DVD-R are you using? My 1300 even with the latest firmware still won't work with Princo

media compatibility is a nightmare - for the price difference here in UK I'm not going to bother with anything but RW's

It's not only the media. I burned other movies without problems on the Thats Write DVD's (same batch). Only the splitted LOTR DVD's don't run on my stand-alone DVD player.
